Stephen McClain, Principal
Principal McClain reminds staff, students, and the community often that we are Curtis School of Excellence, and he does not take the latter half of our school's name lightly. In his third year as principal of Curtis, Dr. McClain models what it means to strive for excellence while continuing to raise the bar for staff and students alike. Dr. McClain couples his high expectations and urgency with the support his staff needs to ensure our students are getting the very best each and every day. This is done by leveraging the resources within the school and our network to strengthen teacher knowledge, understanding, and skill in implementing rigorous curriculum. Knowing that this work can not be done alone, Dr. McClain also secures partnerships with outside organizations and is committed to building teacher-leader capacity so that Curtis may become the premiere elementary school in Roseland. We are one band, one sound at Curtis School of EXCELLENCE!
